Founder and Principal

Saileshi Patel

Saileshi (Sail) Patel has over 20 years of professional experience working in and with a broad range of companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations.  Holding various roles throughout her career, she has amassed a diverse skill-set that includes financial structuring and analysis, general corporate operations and marketing.

She spent the early part of her career managing commercial real estate assets on behalf of pension funds and other large institutional clients at AEW Capital in Boston.  Subsequently, Sail transitioned into structured finance initially on the credit ratings side at Fitch Ratings and later at GE Capital Real Estate in securitization. Through these positions, she refined her financial modeling and analysis skills while gaining a strong understanding of financial and credit markets.

Following business school, Sail joined Weight Watchers Online in 2003 in the marketing group, focused on market and consumer insights research for the weight loss plan.  While at Weight Watchers Online, Sail completed numerous projects including pricing studies, naming/branding, international market expansion research, new program development and testing, segmentation studies, satisfaction studies as well as various usability studies.

After acquiring a wealth of experience at Weight Watchers Online in consumer marketing, Sail joined a small insurance technology services start-up, then known as Insight Catastrophe Solutions, as one of the first four employees to help the founders build a company from the ground up.  At Insight, Sail established and ran the general operations and marketing functions from HR to Corporate Risk Management.  She also served on the Board of Managers as Secretary.  Over five years with the company, she supervised the growth of employee head count to over 50 people in three offices and remote locations across several states and helped administer a corporate reorganization into a holding company structure with multiple subsidiaries.    In addition, she managed the patent application process for Insight, which resulted in five granted patents.

Sail holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Boston University and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Why GOOD MOOD?

Sail was inspired to start GOOD MOOD following her time at Insight, recognizing that start-ups don't always have the time or resources to manage operations and marketing functions.  Many times they are not ready to staff up and take on overhead during the early stage to fill those roles.  Offering on-demand services to this niche market, she is able to fill a need while doing what she enjoys - getting new ventures up and running.
